[Kirk Hauser, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist with
the Carle
organization in Urbana and a graduate
college scholar at UIUC. A war veteran himself, his
broad-based
practice of psychology over 30 years has
included the treatment of people who have been victims
of ongoing
catastrophic violence and medical illness.

During the past few years he has discussed the topicof
war
experiences with colleagues in Iran and East
Africa. He currently plans work in NorthernUganda with
the victims of
the Lord's Resistance Army. He had also actively
contributed time
towards beefing up of medical infrastructure in
Zanzibar working
through Urbana-based community organizations and local
institutions,
and the Zanzibarian policy makers and physicians.
