[Dr. Mujahid Alfayadh is currently Imam and Masjid
Director at the Central Illinois Masjid and Islamic
Center, Urbana.  Dr. Alfayadh is a University of
Illinois alumnus, with a doctorate in food science and
biochemistry. He has a degree in Islamic Jurisprudence
(Shariah) from Iraq, and completed additional studies
in Yemen. His Islamic work experience has been in the
Middle East, South East Asia, and the US. He has been
actively engaged in creating and promoting a positive
learning environment at the Islamic Center in Urbana.
This has included his instrumental role in the
center's outreach efforts. Dr. Alfayadh has been
invited to speak at a number of academic and religious
institutions including conferences and retreats. He
regularly delivers the Friday Sermons, leads the daily
congregational prayers, and provides spiritual and
social guidance to both Muslims and non-Muslims in the
area.
