National Immigration Law Center (NILC) Action Alert is available at
http://www.NILC.org/Action Alerts/AA001.htm

-----------------------

From: National Network

IMPORTANT: PLEASE REMEMBER TO SUBMIT YOUR COMMENTS TO TREASURY RE:
whether it should change its regulations permitting banks to accept
consular identification cards. DEADLINE IS THIS THUR, July 31ST.

Treasury has asked for comments in a highly unusual manner that amounts
to a type of referendum, including a click-on yes or no vote. Treasury
is accepting comments from individual members of the public, so please
encourage any constituents or members to submit comments. Please
distribute this notice as widely as possible.

If you and your co-workers have already voted, thank you! If not, there
are you have till this Thursday 7/31!

You can vote and submit as little as one sentence, such as "I oppose any
efforts to prevent banks from accepting consular identification
documents." If you would like more information about this issue, check the
National Immigration Law Center website at www.NILC.org.

Anti-immigrant organizations are activating their base to vote on this
issue, and failure of immigrants and their allies to match their numbers
could well be interpreted by Congress and the Administration as a
mandate for restricting the issuance and use of consular identification
cards.

You can also go directly to the following link to vote and submit
comments on the Treasury regulations:
http://regcomments.treasury.gov/s.php?su=2&sp=1&camp=TRE030620.
