As I?m sure you are now aware, it appears that a massive U.S. first strike
attack on the nation of Iraq could happen a soon as Wednesday night.

If and when this attack occurs our emergency response plans are as follows
(RAIN OR SHINE):

Day of War

1. On the day that war begins there will be a Community Peace Vigil from
5-9 PM at Westside Park, Champaign (Corner of University and State). Tentative
plan is that from 5-7 we will hold signs, sing songs, and have an open mike.
A silent candleight vigil will happen from 7:00-7:30 or so, followed by
singing and more open mike from 7:30-9:00 PM or so. (depending on mood/preferences
of croud, weather, etc.)

Day After War

1. At noon the PRC will hold a rally on the South Patio of the Illini Union.
Immediately following this rally, SPA will conduct an elongated march through
the main quad, manifold other U of I zones (quite possibly buildings as
well), culminating downtown at Westside Park.

2. At 5p.m., AWARE will hold another rally/vigil tt WestSide Park in Champaign
to reach out not only to U of I students, but the community at large.

Depending on the timing (say if the war begins in the evening), it may be
that only a ?Day After? event occurs. If war happens in the 5-7PM or so
time, people will still probably be at the park that evening, but the bigger
event would happen the following day. Hope this helps clarify things.

Peace,

Jeff
