[Peace] New e-mail list- Peace-action

AWARE has a new e-mail list: Peace-action (actually, its an old, inactive
e-mail list that we are reactivating for a new purpose).  Peace-action is
the place to send posts which advocate taking action on a peace related
issue.  If you have a post which advocates e-mailing, faxing, or writing
your congressperson about an issue, signing an on-line petition, making a
donation, or attending a demonstration sponsored by a nation-wide
organization, this is the place to send it.  These posts might be forwards
from organizations such as Moveon.org, Voice4Change, TrueMajority,
PeaceAction etc.  Remember that posts that only provide information about
an issue, but don't advocate a specific action should be sent to
Peace-discuss, as before.  Separating on-line activism posts onto their
own list is intended to help you to identify them and take action
promptly, as well as to reduce traffic on Peace.  This will only work if
everyone who wants to participate in on-line activism (which hopefully
includes most members of AWARE) signs up for the new list.  You can do
this by visiting:

after you've signed up, you will recieve an e-mail asking you to confirm
your subscription.  Reply to this e-mail as instructed and you will
recieve another e-mail welcoming you to the Peace-action list.  This
e-mail contains an outdated message stating that the Peace-action list deals with
logistics. I'll see what I can do about getting this fixed, in the
meantime, just ignore it.  If you want to post something to Peace-action,
send your post to: peace-action at lists.cu.groogroo.com
