Spiderwoman Theater, an acclaimed Native American women's theatre group, will
be at Unit One/Allen Hall 11/10-11/14. All programs are open to the public.

Tuesday Nov 11 7:00-8:30pm: Storyweaving workshop, Allen Hall South Rec. room.

Wednesday Nov 12 7 pm: Performance: Persistence of Memory -
Lecture/Demonstration, Allen Hall Main Lounge.

Thursday Nov 13 12-1pm: Brown Bag Presentation & Discussion, "Native
Women/Women of Color in the Theatre" in Gender & Women Studies, 911 6th St.

Spiderwoman Theatre is the longest continually running women's theatre company
in North America and the longest continually running professional Native
theatre company in the U.S. Formed in 1975 at the height of the feminist
theatre movement in the U.S., the company developed a unique method of
collective performance that they call "Storyweaving," drawing on collective
feminist methods and Native American storytelling traditions. The company
survived the ebb of the feminist theatre movement, retaining as its core three
of its founding members, sisters Lisa Mayo, Gloria Miguel, and Muriel Miguel.
Together and in solo careers, the sisters shape performances from the stuff of
their lives--personal and political, comic and solemn. Spiderwoman Theatre has
performed at the University of Illinois before, to huge acclaim for both their
workshops and their performances. All are welcome to each of the events. For
