Wednesday April 21 - Jenin, Jenin 7pm @ 106 Lincoln Hall
An award-winning documentary film which exposes Israel's war crimes
and consistent policy of ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian
people. Banned in Israel, "Jenin Jenin" is dedicated to Iyad Samudi,
the producer of the film, who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers on June
23rd, 2002, as he returned home after completing the film.
Thursday April 22 - Gaza Strip 7pm @ 245 AltGeld Hall
"Gaza Strip" pushes the viewer headlong into the tumult of the
Israeli-occupied Gaza, examining the lives and views of ordinary
Palestinians. The documentary often sees the world through the eyes of
young people. The central character is Mohammed Hejazi, a 13-year-old
paperboy in Gaza City, one of the young "stone-throwers" who risk their
lives throwing rocks at Israeli tanks across the barbwire fences

Monday April 26 - The Tale of the Two Occupations 6:30pm @ Allen Hall
Presented by Mike Miles, founder of the Anathoth Community Farm, a
center for the study of nonviolence, community, and sustainable
living located in Luck, Wisconsin. Over two decades of practicing
active non violence has netted him dozens of arrests and more than a
year served in various jails and prisons. He currently works for both
Voices in the Wilderness and the Middle East Children's Alliance.
He has been to Iraq three times since 1997 and recently returned from
Palestine/Israel. He helps coordinate the Wheels of Justice-- a mobile
peace center that has traveled 85,000 miles making over 800 stops at
campuses, peace groups, and faith communities all over the US promoting
non violent solutions to war and occupation.
Monday April 26 - Music for Palestine - featuring Command Zulu and David
Rovics 8pm @ Allen Hall Main Lounge
David Rovics is a peace and social justice folksinger. He has
graced the stage with activists such as Amy Goodman, Howard Zinn, Noam
Chomsky, Ralph Nader, Cynthia McKinney, Dennis Kucinich, Barbara Lee,
Angela Davis, Danny Glover, Desmond Tutu, Michael Moore, Susan
Sarandon, Ward Churchill, Jello Biafra, Pete Seeger, Billy Bragg, Bruce
Cockburn, and the Indigo Girls...just to name a few. Rovics lives out
of his truck as he travels across the U.S. playing at clubs and
universities with stops at major protests and demonstrations. While in
Miami late last year for an anti-globalization rally, Rovics played to
literally a captive audience of thousands when police refused to allow
the audience to leave a downtown amphitheatre. "I believe music can be
more than an escape," says Rovics. It can be a tool for selling
products, or ammunition necessary to build and maintain social
movements."
Tuesday April 27 - Images of Arabs in the United States 7pm @ 217 Noyes
Presented by Khalil Shalabi - a Palestinian American who is the
founder and president of the Arab American Democratic Club in Chicago.
He has served on the Board of the Arab American Institute in
Washington DC, helped found the Arab American Advisory Board to the
City of Chicago Mayors office and is active in the Arab American
community locally and at the national level.
Wednesday April 28 - Right of Return 7pm @ 192 Lincoln
A representative of the Chicago chapter of Al-Awda, the Palestinian
Right of Return Coallition will be giving a history of the conflict as
well as a personal account of travels in Occupied Palestine
Thursday April 29 - The Occupation: A Personal View 7pm @ 196 Lincoln
Presented by Kevin Clark, founder of the Chicago Chapter of the
International Solidarity Movement. Kevin recently returned from a
ISM delegation to Palestine in January 2004 where he served as a
street medic. He is also a key organizer in the statewide April CAT
bulldozer protests.
