Updates from the Gaza Strip : April 24, 2004

Two Palestinian girls, aged 4 and 7, were killed by Israeli troops on
Thursday
during the invasion of Beit Hanoun in the Gaza Strip. 4 year-old Assma Abu
Klik was killed by teargas inhalation, and 7 year-old Muna Abu Tabak was
shot
and killed as Israeli troops fired on a group of children. A 16 year-
old boy, Mohammed al-Malfouh was also shot dead at close range while
throwing
stones.

These deaths bring the number of Palestinian children killed in Gaza in the
last week to 6. In spite of this, the Israeli army still claims its troops
have not been firing at children. 688 Palestinian children have now been
killed by the Israeli army since the beginning of the Intifada.
