[Peace] Oxfam Benefit

Please note that students from Urbana High School are holding a hunger banquet to benefit Oxfam International.  The banquet will be on Saturday, April 3rd from 5 to 7 pm.  It will be held in the Urbana Middle School Cafetorium (corner of Vine and Fairview). Donations of $5.00 or more are requested for each person.  If you've never attended a Hunger Banquet, it is truly an eye-opening experience.  Each participant is randomly assigned to the category of well-off, middle class, or poor and is served accordingly (well off get a full meal, middle get a humble serving of rice and beans, and poor get a bit of rice and water!)  Reflecting the inequities of the world, 10% are classified as well-off, 30% middle class, and 60% poor.  Speakers and entertainment will be provided.  Oxfam is a great non-governmental organization that works with local groups that are effectively fighting hunger, poverty, and injustice.
