For the record, here are the AWARE minutes from 3 weeks ago. I'm forwarding
them for Carol, who had technical problems getting them to the list. I put a
slightly edited version on the website.

: a)      CU Citizens Group.  Carol Ammons.  Charges dropped against Martel
but not Patrick.  Organizing for Unity March and Get Out The Vote Rally.  No
permit yet.  Flyers prepared but not produced.  Durl Kruse is on Action
Committee.  Event will take place on October 23, convening at 9 a.m. in two
locations--Scott Park and Douglass Park--joining up on University Avenue and
First
: Street at the Champaign Police Station and marching from there together
: to Westside Park for rally at 10:30a.m.  Sign making comes next.
Applause.  Point made by Bob that Officer who charged was responsible for
making Chief Finney aware.

: b)      Postcards For Peace.  Peter Rohloff.  Show/sale will be Sun.,
November 14, 2 -5 p.m.  Cowboy Monkey.  Darrin Drda's band will play.  Peter
is putting out a call for artists.  On Oct. 2, from 2 - 4 p.m. Sandra Ahten
will open her studios on High Cross Road to provide inspiration and supplies
to people wishing to produce a submission.

: c)      Military Recruitment.  Susan Davis.  She is working on production
of leaflets using article reprints.  Passed around a proposed one about
proportion of Latinos in military.  She is recruiting Joe Miller, VVAW, to
work with her.

: (1)   Petition circulated for people who are going to boycott Channel 15
TV (WICD) until they put on equal commentary rebuttal time to Mark (?sp)
Hyman.

: e)      T-Shirts for Tables.  Ricky Baldwin.  Passed around a page showing
selections.  People         were in favor of those that didn't have GWB
pictured.  Liked something about Disaster of last four years.

: f)        Veterans' Day Event.  Carol Inskeep.   Work meeting this Thurs.,
9/30/04 at 7:30 p.m. at 606 East High Street.  There will be a panel and a
film, On or Betrayed, will be shown.  She has asked Rick ?Para to be a
panelist.  Meg Miner couldn't do it on Veterans' Day 11/11.  Should we have
it on another day of the week.  Meeting location changed to 2007 S. George
Huff Drive still at 7:30 p.m., Thurs. 9/30/04.

: g)      UPTV Commission.   Randall Cotton.  Reported on this Monday's
continuation of Sept. 13 Commission hearing where just Commissioners Dana
Mancuso and Greg Boozell, and Coordinator Chris Foster were present.
Everything hangs on "gossamer threads of tenuousness" but there has not been
action by the mayor (to move to sign the agreement for the satellite feed).
Recourses mentioned were grievance prodcedure or city council action to
change the governance of the public access tv.  Randall didn't know whether
there had been any action about whether to air the police monitoring videos.

: h)     WILL COMMENTARIES.  Dave Green.  He has produced one of 450 words
(3 minutes) which he said was to come on the air this Friday at 4:45 p.m.
and 6:45 p.m. and on Saturday at 10:59 a.m. The committee has Carl
Estabrook, Al Kagan and Randall Cotton. When individuals submit them they
don't count as our organizational quota of one per month.

storage of same.

: j)        Cosponsorship of PRC anti Columbus Day Event.  Approved.

: a)      Prospect For Peace.  Ricky Baldwin.  Location moved across the
street (kaddy corner,  to in front of Red Lobster).  Paul asked if there are
any more nuclear disarmament flyers left.  The main flyering will be the Get
Out The Vote Flyers from United For Peace and Justice by Randall Cotton.
5,000 ordered at a cost of $65.  He expects to have them in time for
Thursday at Mike & Molly's.

: c)      Larry Keller announed Socialist Forum event on Oct. 12.  Will be
