Internationally renowned political commentator, novelist, and playwright,
Tariq Ali will be a Unit One/Allen Hall Guest-in-Residence 10/18-10/21. He
will be speaking every night of his residency. See below for his schedule.
All events are open to the public and take place at Allen Hall, 1005 W.
Gregory, Urbana. Free parking is available in the parking garage across the
street. 

About Tariq Ali:
Tariq Ali, born in Lahore, Pakistan, is an internationally renowned
political commentator, novelist, filmmaker, and playwright based in London.
He has written more than a dozen books on world history and politics,
including the bestseller The Clash of Fundamentalisms: Crusades, Jihads, and
Modernity, and Bush in Babylon: The Recolonization of Iraq. He has written
five novels, scripts for both stage and screen, and is an editor of the New
Left Review. He was prominently involved in 60s antiwar and radical
politics; Mick Jagger, a personal friend, is said to have written Street
Fighting Man in his honor.
