Hi all.

I joined this discussion because I thought I could contribute some 
information and perspectives on emergency contraception (EC) in the 
context of AWARE's co-sponsorship of the upcoming Rally for EC, of 
which I am one of the organizers. However, I did not realize that 
such hostility would come with the territory of asking AWARE to 
co-sponsor a CCHCC event.

And so, now that some people on the list have taken to attacking me, 
offering wild and spiteful speculations about my personal life, and 
vilifying organizations about which I care deeply, I've lost patience 
for having this kind of discussion.

A woman is raped every 2-3 minutes in the U.S., and in addition to 
the resulting trauma, many fear unwanted pregnancy as well. In all 
the hours people have put into opposing EC on this list, dozens of 
women have been raped, some are surely searching for, and unable to 
get, EC. We're trying to change that. There's much organizing to do, 
which I now need to get back to doing.

I would appreciate if any additional conversation of EC on this list 
did NOT contain public assaults on my character and assumptions about 
my life, work, and family.

I will assume that AWARE's co-sponsorship holds unless someone 
contacts me directly to officially revoke y'all's support. If anyone 
is interested in genuine and principled discussion of these issues, 
you may contact me off the list.
