RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIPS
Center on Democracy in a Multiracial Society
2005-2006 Academic Year

 
The Center on Democracy in a Multiracial Society (CDMS) is seeking two Research Assistants at 25% for the 2005-2006 academic year. The research assistants will work with the Center’s administration in supporting research initiatives and outreach efforts. This is a nine month appointment with the potential for continued summer funding. Those selected for the positions will be expected to work 10 hours per week. A tuition and fee wavier is possible, depending on the applicant’s graduate program. The position begins on August 16, 2005 and ends on May 15, 2006.

Responsibilities: 
  
   Work with the CDMS administration in researching, developing, and presenting UIUC outreach programs 
   Support research activities including CDMS multidisciplinary research initiatives and annual newsletter 
   Assist with clerical support 
   Other duties as assigned 
 
Qualifications:
  
   Current enrollment and good standing in a UIUC graduate program 
   Excellent written and verbal communication skills, one preferably in both English and Spanish 
   Expertise/interest in ethnic studies, social sciences, and/or the humanities 
   Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher, Dreamweaver, and digital photography
