35th Annual Peace Bazaar

Saturday, December 3rd, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Community United Church of Christ (corner of 6th and Daniel)

The Peace Bazaar is an annual (35th year!) alternative gift fair where we
sell donated items to raise funds for peace and social justice groups. We
have thousands and thousands of items for sale, completely filling the
church fellowship hall (in the basement). We have all the usual: new and
recycled gifts, china, pottery, ceramics, antiques, collectibles,
multicultural art, baskets, knick-knacks, cookware, glassware, silverware,
bread makers, salad spinners, toasters, several matching lamps, vases,
posters, picture frames, decorative items, baskets, sports equipment, sports
bags, luggage, candles, furniture, household items, linens, books, toys,
games, puzzles, house plants, musical instruments, holiday decorations,
baked goods and much, much more.

Need a fish-string hammock? How about a comfy lounger with matching
ottoman? Does your baby need a highchair, exersaucer, toddler bed (which
converts to a twin bed), Little Tikes play structure or a dresser? Does
your garage or work shop need a huge and sturdy storage locker or two or
three? We have these, plus tables, area rugs and more.

Want to show your Sweetie you're sweet on her? Give her the gift of frozen
custard from Culver's for a year. Is there someone on your gift list who
would like a gift certificate to Caffe Paradiso, Dos Reales, Great Impasta,
Original Pancake House, Pages for All Ages, Radio Maria, Red Herring
Vegetarian Restaurant, or Strawberry Fields Natural Food Market? We've got
them ready for you.

Know anyone who would like tickets to the Prairie Ensemble's next concert or
to Staerkel Planetarium? Are you a film buff who would enjoy passes to the
2005 - 2006 Season of the News Gazette's Film Series at the Virginia
Theatre? Want to go to the pool in the middle of winter? You can get pool
passes to the Indoor Aquatic Center in Urbana at the Peace Bazaar.

Looking for art? Some of the artists who have paintings/ prints/ jewelry at
the bazaar this year include Sandra Ahten, Chris Berti, Charlotte Brady,
Jeffry Little, Terri Mittenthal, Laura O'Donnell, Molly Scott, and Brian
Sullivan. We have several woolens by Barbara Anderson of the Spinners and
Weavers Guild.
