AN EVENING (or three) OF NEW THEATER AND MUSIC
at the new URBANA INDEPENDENT MEDIA CENTER
Friday thru Sunday, December 16-18, 8 p.m.
$5-5000 suggested donation

New, intriguing and sometimes funny works
composed by Rick Burkhardt, Lisa Fay, Jeff Glassman, and
Andy Gricevich
and performed by Rick Burkhardt, Andy Gricevich, Ryan Higgins,
and The Prince Myshkins

This winter, the grand Urbana tradition known as House Theater is
taking a vacation, leaving the living room to briefly inhabit the
labyrinthine and spectacular environs of the new Independent
Media Center. Since these unique performances will happen
in different rooms, you'll get a sense of the massive
variety of ongoing projects that make the building their home.

The new pieces created with this performance in mind include
a play in which intricate speaking and gestures create two
simultaneous times on stage; a piece for asking and not yet
answering; satirical cabaret/folk songs about contemporary
political issues; a sequence of poems addressing the relationship
between war, writing and meaning; and a play about the relationship
between Latin American revolutionary Simon Bolivar and Don Simon
Robinson, his teacher, and the writing of history and the present.

The Independent Media Center is located in the Post Office building
in downtown Urbana, at 202 S. Broadway. Come to the main entrance,
where you'll be met by a friendly human and shown the way to the
first performance.

Since space will be limited, please RSVP, preferably by emailing
princemyshkins at hotmail.com, or by calling Andy Gricevich at
608-335-3371. Leave contact information, just in case.
