Char Smith is a member of the East Bend Mennonite
Church in Fisher. She spent one month In August and
September, 2004 in Hebron, a city in the West Bank.
Hebron is a particularly volatile area due to several
Jewish settlements within the boundaries of the city.
Some of the activities of the Christian Peacemaker
Teams in Hebron include escorting Palestinian children
to school, documenting human rights issues, giving
nonviolence trainings, and joining Palestinian and
Israeli peace groups in campaigns to expose the face
of the Occupation.

Christian Peacemaker Teams are supported by the
Mennonite Church, Church of the Brethren, and Friends
United Meeting as well as other sponsoring groups.
CPT’s mission is to offer an organized, nonviolent
alternative to war and other forms of lethal
inter-group conflict. Donations on behalf of CPT
will be accepted following Char’s presentation.

The public is invited to the presentation as well as
the potluck. The public is always welcome to join
Friends in their Meeting for Worship at 11 AM on
Sundays.
