URBANA PUBLIC TELEVISION OUTREACH COORDINATOR
$10.40 - $11.99/hour, DOQ, Plus Benefits
20 hours/week.  Some evening and weekend hours required.

Perform outreach for Urbana Public Television. Fill available public 
access slots by finding out about current production projects and getting 
them on UPTV. Network with potential partners to provide content. Ensure 
that all UI and Parkland journalism and film students know about UPTV 
every semester. Follow-up with and support members doing regular 
programming. Speak to community organizations about UPTV. Gather 
membership and content that represents the full demographics of the 
community. Provide training on studio space, video recording and editing 
equipment, especially during evening and weekend times. Provide public 
access users with evening and weekend times for editing facilities. 
Prepare promotional materials and write grants for special projects.  

Requires: 
* Valid Illinois driver's license and safe driving history; 
* Availability to work some evenings and weekends.

* Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with 
members of the community;
* Ability to prepare and clearly present information verbally and in 
writing to individuals and groups;
* Ability to train others;
* Knowledge of basic television production techniques, camera operation, 
and video editing;
* Computer skills (the ability to communicate via e-mail and ability to 
prepare promotional materials);
* Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain good 
records; and
* High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent;
