Urban Education and Community: High school Student Voices in the Midst of Gentrification in Chicago
a panel discussion with students from an alternative high school in Chicago

The Rudy Lozano Leadership Academy is an alternative high school program supported by the non-profit community agency Instituto Progreso Latino/Institute for Latino Progress. The academy is located in the middle of the Pilsen and Little Village neighborhoods which are predominantly Mexican and located in the near southwest side of the city of Chicago. Students from this school will hold a panel presentation discussing the school’s mission of education and community responsibility in the midst of gentrification and urban renewal.
