------------------------------

Each spring, the IDF hosts the Human Rights Film Series. Our series was so
popular last spring, we decided to an additional series this fall. This
week, IDF showcases the journey of two Sudanese refugees from Africa to
America in "Lost Boys of Sudan." The film will be shown with a projector
and free snacks will be provided.

Peter Dut and Santino Chuor survived lion attacks and militia gunfire to
reach a refugee camp in Kenya along with thousands of other children. From
there, remarkably, they were chosen to come to America. Safe at last from
physical danger and hunger, a world away from home, they find themselves
confronted with the abundance and alienation of contemporary American
suburbia.

"Lost Boys of Sudan" won an Independent Spirit Award and screened
theatrically in 70 cities across the U.S. to strong audience and critical
praise. The film was broadcast nationally on the PBS series POV in the
fall of 2004.

For more on Peter and Santino's story, as well as background on Sudan's
present social struggle, please visit http://www.lostboysfilm.com.

Next, and last, in the fall's Human Rights Film Series, the IDF will show
"Operation: Veteran Freedom" on October 20th. Each film begins at 7pm and
will be shown at the Illinois Disciples Foundation.**

The Human Rights Film Series is cosponsored by: Activist Forum, Amnesty
International #124, Anti-War Anti-Racism Effort (AWARE), Council on
