The South Asian Collective presents "Cabs and Capitalism" a talk with a
question and answer session by Biju Mathew on Wednesday, April 19th at 6PM
in Lincoln Hall room 196 (Lincoln Hall at 702 S. Wright Street Urbana next
to Gregory Hall)


Biju Mathew is active in the South Asian immigrant and labor community in
New York City. He is a lead organizer of the New York Taxi Workers'
Alliance (NYWA). He co-hosts a weekly radio show on WBAI called Global
Movement, Urban Struggle. Biju Mathew has considerable experience in
writing, speaking, and organizing around issues of communalism,
immigration and labor. His book "Taxi Cabs and Capitalism in New York
City" provides a commentary on a number of issues: immigration, gender,
race and multiculturalism to the neoliberal political economy.
