[The following has been sent to various lists from which we solicited
Champaign residents to attend last night's township meeting. --CGE]

Thanks to the Champaign residents who attended the annual township
meeting for the Township of the City of Champaign last night. As a
result of our crushing electoral majority (consisting of a single vote
at one point) the following resolutions will appear on the November ballot:

	[Withdrawal from Iraq]
In order to halt the continuing loss of human life and
of resources necessary to meet human needs at home,
shall the United States commence a humane, orderly,
rapid and comprehensive withdrawal of United States
military personnel and bases from Iraq?

	[Impeachment]
Shall our representative to the U.S. House
of Representatives be asked to support the impeachment
of George W. Bush and Richard Cheney for misleading
our nation to war with Iraq, for permitting the illegal use
of torture, and for conducting domestic spying on U.S.
citizens in violation of the 4th Amendment to the U.S.
Constitution and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act?

AWARE ("Anti-War Anti-Racism Effort") proposed these referenda in
consultation with local Greens. AWARE is an open organization; we meet
every Sunday evening at the IMC (the old post Office) in Urbana, from
5-6:30pm. Come join us.
