Pending putting together the real meeting minutes,
here's a summary of upcoming events:
8/7 Mon 3PM Urbana Courthouse, courtoom A
Patrick Thompson's sentencing -- or, we can hope,
the judge may grant a continuance calling for a new trial.
8/10 Thu 5PM Dinner at Siam Terrace for Kim Abel (see below)
If you'd like to (commit to) coming to this dinner but haven't
yet confirmed that fact, let Jamie Storm know *by end of Tuesday*.

8/10 Thu 7PM Urbana Free Library Auditorium
AWARE Presents: Kim Abel, Illinois Valley Community College
nursing instructor, will be sharing stories of her work with
injured soldiers at Walter Reed Army Hospital in summer of 2005.
8/12 Sat Washington, DC
An antiwar protest (especially against the bombardment of Lebanon?)
is being organized for this Saturday.
Sadia Bekal (sbekal {at} uiuc.edu, 217-369-9242) is making local
arrangments for travel to DC. Please contact her if you're
interested in going.
8/11-12 Fri 4:30-9PM, Sat 10AM-5PM
AWARE table at C-U Days, in Douglass Park in Champaign.
(Note we *won't* be at the Farmer's Market this Sat.)
8/12 Sat Lincoln Square Mall
Tim Johnson will be around the mall this Sat.
Could be a good time to wear an anti-war T-shirt, say.
Farther in the future:
8/22-23(?) UIUC Quad Day -- AWARE-on-campus will have a table
9/5 Tue "Eyes Wide Open" (something like 7AM-4PM)
A pair of empty boots for each Illinoisan killed in Iraq,
and other materials talking about the many Iraqis killed in the war.
Organized by American Friends' Service Committee (AFSC),
who did something similar last year.
Carol (Inskeep?) is the local organizer -- contact her if you'd
like to help set up/take down, staff a table, participate in
the reading of names at noon, etc.
9/2 Sat AWARE fall cookout at the Kruse house
9/25-26 Paul Street visits (AWARE Presents); speaks to WILL-AM on 9/26
