[Peace] emergency protest action

Dear Friends:

Given the outrageous attacks by Israel on first Gaza and now Beirut--as I write, the Israeli press is reporting Hezbollah retaliatory attacks on Israeli cities Haifa and Nahariyah--the expansion of violence in the region appears inevitable. Bush is now responding with threats on Syria and Iran, and Israel is likely to escalate its aggression in the face of Hezbollah's katyusha rockets.

I am hoping to work with allies for some sort of emergency response against Israel and the U.S. role in the Middle East. 

 I am a member of the International Socialist Organizaton (we are a RSO at UIUC and UIC), and you can learn more about my group from our weekly newspaper, online here: socialistworker.org  and our group's website: internationalsocialist.org

If you know of anyone locally that might be interested in some sort of response in Champaign, please forward them this email.  I am particularly interested in a small protest at the quad during lunch tomorrow (several people holding signs would be effective) or even a sign-holding protest in downtown Champaign on Saturday.  However, I'm open to other suggestions.
