Transparency can help government and the public obtain timely
information
before disaster strikes—and help them cope afterwards. In celebration
of Sunshine Week,
a panel of national experts will discuss government and secrecy, the
problems confronted,
the impacts on communities, and what the public can do. The University
Library and Champaign County League of Women Voters will sponsor a
local broadcast of the teleconference as well as a discussion of how
the issues affect the community.
The public is invited to attend all or part of the event.
