[Peace] vote tomorrow?

My take:

I think Blagojevich will win, though maybe not by much. So I feel it's "safe" to
vote for Rich Whitney (Green). The Greens really need Rich to get 5% (totally
attainable) to make it easier to get on the ballot statewide in the future.

Democrats absolutely will win Attorney General, Comptroller and Secretary of
State, so it's "safe" to vote Green there as well (yes, Green candidates are
available for all three races).

Treasurer might be a close race. Neither the Dem (Alexander Giannoulias) or Rep
(Christine Radogno) candidate stands out as particularly stellar or particularly
bad. The Treasurer mainly just invests state funds, doesn't really factor much
into state legislation or policy. There is a Green candidate (Dan Schlorff).

Gill over Johnson, of course (no Green candidate).

I think Naomi Jakobsson has a lock on her seat. So I think it's "safe" to vote
for Tom Abrams (Green).

The outcome for State Senator, though, (Mike Frerichs (D) vs Judy Myers (R))
seems quite uncertain. A lot of money is being poured into that race. Joe
Parnarauskis (Socialist Equality Party) is running. Joe is an absolutely stellar
guy. This one is a tough call.

Vote yes on the City of Champaign Township tax increase (else aid to the poorest
of the poor could be drastically cut). The referendum wording makes no mention
of the actual purpose of the funds, so I'm worried.

Vote NO on retaining judges (just to keep them honest, they'll all be retained
anyway).

County Board, I've only looked at my district (7). Mark Randall is an
arch-conservative, but the Democrat (Carrie Melin) didn't campaign much. Kostas
Yfantis is running for the Greens. I'm worried about the outcome.

Mark Shelden (R) will win County Clerk, but I will vote for Michael Richards (D)
(No Green candidate).

Everything else is uncontested (at least on my Champaign District 2 ballot).

R

: This is just my opinion:
:
: Biggest problems with straight Democratic ticket -> Blagojevich for
: governor, and some people you know may be running as Greens
:
: Biggest problems with straight Green ticket -> They're not running
: anyone for U.S. House, and David Gill (the Dem's candidate) is
: a really decent guy.
:
: So I'd say read up on who's running and vote for individual
: candidates.
