[Peace] Fwd: [Aware] venue for ICPJ conference in March?

Not to quibble here but if you take another look at McKinley Presbyterian,
you'll find it is completely handicap accessible, both the foundation and
the church. There is also a lot of space there. The biggest problem is
that there is there is no parking lot. That's okay if the event is on a
weekend because there would be FREE parking in two nearby UI parking
garages, each less then a block away. There is also metered parking.

I'm holding an event there in December and have found the staff incredibly
wonderful to work with. You may want to take a second look.

Hi Karen,

What do you think about this? Can we get U. space for such an event?

Great--can you give me some contact information for them or tell me who to
contact about that?

I believe that your last entry is the most promising; we do have student
AWARE members, and they ought to be able to commandeer University space,
perhaps in the Illini Student Union building, but possibly in others as
well.

Hi,

Laurel had been in communication with Jan and Durl Kruse--not sure if you
are getting this, Kruses' but I'm emailing about venues for the conference
if we were to have it in Champaign. The 2nd ICPJ conference we are planning
for March 31.

So far this is what we have found--

Ill Disciples Foundation - too small

Post office space - probably also too small in terms of breakouts and a main
gathering space

YMCA- not accessible

Union --main rooms we might use are booked

McKinley - not accessible

Does your group have any other venues we might check out? Are there active
student groups that could help us hold the event on campus?
