*Monday, October 16th:*

GREEN CANDIDATE RICH WHITNEY VISITS CHAMPAIGN-URBANA!!

Come hear the *only* Governor candidate with a *REAL* plan for Illinois!

*Noon*: Rally on the Quad.  Rich will be speaking on student issues and the
University

*6pm*:  Rich will be speaking in room 151 Everitt, 1406 Green st.  Also
speaking at the event will be Tom Abram for 103rd State Representative, Joe
Futrelle for County Board 8, and Kostas Yfantis for County Board 7.

*7:30pm*: There will be a reception after the speaking event at Jerusalem
Restaurant 601 Wright st.  Attendees will have a chance to sit down with
Rich and ask him questions.  The local Green candidates will also be
available for discussion.  There will be appetizer food provided.  Dinners
can be purchased from the restaurant.  The cost is 5$ low income/student and
10$ community members.  All are welcome.

Rich Whitney, 51, is an attorney and partner in the Carbondale law firm of
Speir and Whitney.  He has long been politically active in support of the
labor, environmental, civil rights, women's and antiwar movements. Whitney
is also one of the founding members of the Illinois Green Party and wrote a
good portion of the Party's platform.  Last Spring hundreds of volunteers
from around the state gathered over 39,000 petition signatures to place
Whitney on the November ballot.  He is continually gaining support in his
race for governor as the only non corporate funded candidate.  Please join
us on Monday to find out more about this amazing candidate!!
