[Peace] Election Day needs YOU!

We are writing today with an appeal for help.  Election day is approaching.
In order to succeed this November the local Green Party needs you!  We are
looking for willing volunteers to donate as little as an hour of their time
to as much as their whole day on November 7th.  This is the chance for the
Green Party to make history in Champaign County.  We are fielding local
candidates who have significant chances of winning.  We are also working for
a Governor candidate who if gains 5% of the vote will establish the party
statewide.  This has never been done before by the Green Party in Illinois.



The job is easy.  We need people who are willing to stand in front of
polling places handing out palm cards to voters as they enter.  The palm
cards will have a list of all our candidates.  Volunteers who pledge more
than 4 hours of their time may be asked to help in other ways such as
delivering materials.  In 2004 we had volunteers in front of key precincts
for district 8 county board.  The election data shows that the precincts at
which we had a presence did significantly better than the ones we ignored.  The
goal for this November 7th is to have a volunteer in front of each polling
place in districts 7, 8, and possibly 9 handing out literature.  *Without
YOUR help this will not be possible.*
