Dear Peace List,

Would anyone like to come with me to Allen Hall on campus on Friday to advertise AWARE and opportunities for student political activism? - karen medina

We are given a few minutes to give a short description, along with other political groups on campus like the Greens, ISO, Coalition Against Coke Contracts was there last year, ... It is a great way to meet other groups, and get a list of new students who are interested in anti-war activism. I'll contact Durl and Jan to see if we could hand out a flier of some sort.

What: News Student Orientation session on political activism
Where: Allen Hall, South Rec Room (downstairs)
When: Friday, August 17th, 1:00pm, for about half an hour.

Hi,

I am contacting you because you work with a political/activist group on campus. Allen Hall is having a new student orientation on Friday, August 17th. As part of that orientation we are having a series of voluntary, concurrent sessions on life at U of I. One of those sessions is about
political activism on campus and I would like to invite your
organization to attend this session. At this session we will introduce students to some of the organizations on campus and the issues that they are working on. The session is only a half hour long so the format will depend on how many organizations are represented. It will probably involve saying a few sentences about your organization and the issues you work on and having information/literature to hand out. You are also welcome to have sign up sheets for students who want to get involved.

The session is Friday, August 17th at 1:00pm in the South Rec Room of Allen Hall. Please get back to me as soon as possible if you are able to attend.
