Peter Rohloff to speak on:  Re-Evaluating International Aid Work: A Medical Case Study From Guatemala

Wednesday, February 7, 7:15 pm, at Channing-Murray Foundation, 1209 W. Oregon, Urbana

Peter is currently living and doing research and development work in Guatemala with the Kaqchikel-speaking Maya.  He will be discussing his
group's medical aid work, why traditional NGO's (non-governmental
organization's) and other programs in Guatemala do not work, and what
they are doing to develop more responsible, holistic models of
intervention.

Peter is a member of the Medical scholars program at the UIUC who has
lived in C-U since 1999.

Refreshments will be served.  Free and open to the public.
