You are probably aware of the fact that the charter school proposal
was denied.  I am in the process of appealing the School Board's
decision with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).  One of
the reasons cited for the denial was lack of support.  The charter
school law states that the support could be in the form of a petition
or electronic submission.  At the last school board meeting, we had
over 150 to attend and speak out about having an alternative for our
children.  My intentions was to use the School Board's recording of
the meeting and send it to ISBE as proof of support.  However, the
School Board DESTROYED the tape citing technical difficulty (first
time in the history of taping of the Board meetings this has
happened).

If you would, please submit a brief statement of what you thought
about the charter school initiative by 1/20, and I am going to submit
your name and quote as part of the evidence of support.  You can
submit it via email or you can call 402-2438.  If you would like to
submit your address and title that would be benefical.  Thank you for
