If one child cries tonight

If just one child cries tonight,
if just one child is born in Baghdad tonight whose mother is scared of the guns outside the door,
if just one child is sick and his parents can't find him help,
I cry for that child. 

So how is that war on terrorism going?
If one child lies awake in terror tonight,
if one child cries tonight,
all the tears I have cannot wash away the blood he has seen.

What have we done?
Why are there more guns now?
Why do we keep sending guns?
Don't we see the child watching?
