Peace and Blessings CU Citizens,

Hear Yea, Hear Yea SOS:

CITIZEN ACTION needed to mobilize and be in front of the Champaign City
Building tomorrow evening starting from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.  and anywhere in
between that time.  We will meet to protest this council's pending decision
to legalize discrimination in housing.  This present and historic WRONG must
be addressed immediately.  I know that everyone is busy, tired or just
experiencing the "juggling act", however, we call CITIZENS to help dispel
the negative and harmful atmosphere that the City Council and the Mayor
continues to perpetuate.

This move further promotes the existence of "Redlining" and "Blockbusting"
which is illegal.  The goal of this action is to be there between 4:30 -
5:00.  We must stop the passing of laws that further disenfranchise the
minority community and the poor.  I understand that tomorrow is not the City
Council meeting.  We must send this message to the broader community, so
that they know this council is mis-representing the good nature of the
citizens, at large, in the City of Champaign.  We must not let this council
continue to send the negative message that poor people are the problem in
Champaign.  They have already denied the Township the resources necessary to
help the poor and indigent. Let's send the message that the "landowners" do
not have the right to deny that which so many have died for in this county.
Join us tomorrow at the City building in Champaign for this action and then
again on Tuesday @ 6:00 p.m prior to the council meeting.  Let's send a
clear message.   We will ask that each of you take this time to help
challenge this move on *Monday and Tuesday*!

Inequality cannot produce equality.  Please send this SOS far and wide!
