Committing and supporting an act or action that causes harm to human beings
is one definition of Evil. The record of the Champaign City Council and
their failure to provide sufficient support to the township, refusal to
consider a police review board, and their decision to get rid of Section 8
protections constitutes an act of Evil that contaminates this community.

One way to address this is to simply vote these individuals out of office,
yet it will be 2009 before the terms of McIntosh and Pirock expire. Both
Jackson and LaDue terms will be up in 2009 as well. The mayor and other
council members are in office until 2011.

In the meantime what can us, as citizens, do now? I support the notion that
we exercise our rights as consumers and refuse to support the individual
businesses and endeavors that our council profits from right now. If our
City Council does not wish to support the poor then I think it's only fair
and just to take my money elsewhere.

Tom Bruno - Owns a private law practice and is a landlord. Do not give him
your business.

Deborah Frank Feinen - Is a partner in the law firm of Nally, Bauer, Feinen,
Bullock & Mann. Do not do business with this law firm.

Ken Pirok - Owns and operates his own consulting business. Some of the
businesses he has represented are Strawberry Fields and Pieto Catering. Do
not give him or his clients your business. For more information go to
http://www.kenpirok.com/ and check out his client listing for businesses to
boycott. He is someone that can be kicked out of office in 2009.

Marci Dodds - She cast a minority vote this evening

Karen Foster - Her campaign website says she used to work for the Champaign
County Nursing Home. Her current occupation outside of the City Council is
unknown.

Michael LaDue - He cast a minority vote this evening

Vic McIntosh - No employer listed for Vic. It is possible that he is
retired. He can be kicked out of office in 2009.

Gina Jackson - She cast a minority vote this evening

Mayor Gerald Schweighart - Former police officer with the City of Champaign.
When the various police charities start to solicit you for cash don't give
them a dime. Instead make a donation to places like Restoration Urban
Ministries, The Times Center, and the Center for Women in Transition. Let
your donation dollars go towards the people who our own City Council is more
than willing to ignore and overlook.
