John Gilpin forwarded this to me for the Quaker elist:

The public radio program This American Life, airing on WILL-AM 580 at
1 pm Saturday, features a story about Parkland College student Sam
Slaven, an Iraq War veteran who came home with an aversion to all
Muslims and decided to systematically defeat his own bigotry.

Slaven dealt with his fear and anger toward Muslims by joining the
Muslim Student Association at Parkland. Yousif Radeef, an Iraqi and
president of the Muslim student group, welcomed him and befriended him
as part of that process.

The program will be repeated at 6 pm Sunday on WILL-AM 580. This
American Life, hosted by Ira Glass, is a national radio program that
applies the tools of journalism to everyday, personal lives. It airs
weekly on more than 500 public radio stations across the country.

Tune in Saturday at 1 pm!
