Once again the School for Designing a Society is flaring up a semester of
offerings, with some new people and also making some people new.
There are still openings for full time students as well as options for
evening drop-ins with guest presenters. If you can't come but want to stay
in the know, sign up for the listserv at:
http://designingasociety.net/mailman/listinfo/school_designingasociety.net
Topics include performance, ecological design, mosaic play-shops, economics,
public art, independent media and governing as the coordination of our
desires.
The guest presenters this year are fabuloso:
Patch Adams (health care reformer), Almah Lavon Rice (poet), Elizabeth Adams
(composer), Thomas Fischer (documentary film maker), Dave Sellers
(architect), Larry Richards (cybernetician) and others.
The School for Designing a Society is a project of teachers, performers,
artists, and activists. It is an ongoing experiment in making temporary
living environments where the question "What would I consider a desirable
society?" is given serious playful thought, and taken as an input to
creative projects.
