>   Palestine: The Need For Aid                         
>   Despite recent border closures and travel           
>   restrictions, Islamic Relief remains one of the few 
>   aid agencies actively distributing emergency aid to 
>   Palestinians.                                       
>   Since the Gaza power plant shutdown on January      
>   20th, Islamic Relief has provided Palestinian       
>   families with hygiene kits, kitchen sets, blankets, 
>   food packages and water.                            
>   During the week of January 22nd to the 27th,        
>   Islamic Relief distributed $40,000 worth of medical 
>   disposables to Gaza's hospitals, arranged $600,000  
>   worth of necessary food items and distributed over  
>   5,000 blankets to needy families in Gaza. An        
>   additional 12 truck-loads of aid are currently      
>   being distributed, with another 10,000 food         
>   packages being packed and readied for distribution  
>   over the next few days.
