Florence Ntakarutimana will give a talk entitled, "Healing from Civil
War: Bringing the enemy sides together in Burundi" on Wednesday, June
 25 at 7 PM at the Urbana-Champaign Friends Meetinghouse, 1904 E. Main,
Urbana. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.

How can a country heal after twelve years of civil war, which killed
3% of the population? How can another greater round of violence be
 avoided?

Florence Ntakarutimana will talk about grassroots efforts to move
towards a peaceful future in which desires for revenge are turned into
reconciliation. Florence is the program coordinator of Healing and
Rebuilding Our Community (HROC) in Burundi. Florence's speaking tour
is sponsored by African Great Lakes Initiative (AGLI), a Quaker
organization supporting peacemaking activities in the Great Lakes
region of Africa (Burundi, Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and
 Uganda).

Donations will be accepted for Florence's work in Burundi. Checks may
be made out to Friends Peace Teams with AGLI/Burundi written on the
 memo line.

Co-sponsored by African Great Lakes Initiative, Urbana-Champaign
 Friends Meeting, and Channing-Murray Foundation
