Workshop: Strategic Planning for Activists: Personal Maps for Social Change
Many
people would like to see large scale social change, but don't
understand how to make the leap from the big picture to daily life. In
this workshop, participants will create personal maps that connect
today's individual actions to tomorrow's social movements.

April 21, 12pm (Lunch available for purchase)
Red Herring Coffeehouse
Channing Murray Foundation
1209 W. Oregon St.
Urbana, IL
FREE

This
workshop will be conducted by Elizabeth Simpson as a part of the Urbana
tour stop of the Change of State Performance Project. While here, CSPP
will also perform their play, "Take this House (and float it away)"

What will you do when the flood waters rise?

UC-IMC
202 S. Broadway, Urbana
(Unfortunately not wheelchair accessible)
Thurday, 4.23.09
8 p.m.
$5-10 suggested donation (no one turned away)

(Also at Allen Hall, S. Rec Room, UIUC, Tuesday, 4.21.09 at 8 p.m. Wheelchair accessible.)

This tightly choreographed play raises questions about
 common attitudes towards water
 and "natural" disasters.
A
suburban couple grapples with- and denys the gravity of- the 'storm
of the century' in a suburb of Sacramento. Opening performances are
"Hoprock", a solo microtonal poem on udderbot (a unique woodwind slide
instrument) by Jacob Barton and "Water finds its Way", a personal,
multimedia inquiry into water by Elizabeth Simpson of Urbana, IL.

Qilo Matzen and Andrea del Moral co-direct Change of State. Fiscal sponsorship by CounterPULSE.
