We hope you will join us on December 5th as we celebrate the 10th
Anniversary of the birth of the Indy Media Movement!

The UCIMC is part of a global Indy Media Movement that has it's [image: WTO
009.jpg]roots in the "Battle in Seattle" that took place on November 30,
1999 when thousands of activists came together to protest WTO talks.
Several local unions donated money to send 18 people from UC to Seattle.
They came back and founded UC-IMC on Sept. 24, 2000. Ten years later, UCIMC
members continue building the Indymedia movement both in CU and globally.
On December 5th, 2009, UCIMC members have planned an all-day celebration.
This week's newsletter highlights the different events celebrating out 10th
Anniversary.

At 4pm, join us as we dedicate the UCIMC's historic Post Office lobby to the
Webber Family.

In case you haven't visited the UCIMC before, you should! We're located in
the historic downtown Urbana post office building. The UCIMC purchased the
building in 2005, but the post office still operates out of the front of the
building. We will be dedicating the lobby to the Webber Family, who have
served both the Urbana Post Office and the UCIMC.

Local historian Ilona Matkovski will present the dedication of the IMC's
historic Post Office lobby to the Webber Family. The Webbers have served
Urbana since 1851, when Thomson R. Webber served as Urbana's first post
master. In 1914, Charles M. Webber was the first Post Master to serve at
the 202 S. Broadway location. Most recently, Carl Webber has generously
provided the IMC with valuable legal services. Please join us as we thank
the Webber Family.
