CLEARWATER AGAINST BLACKWATER  Conference in Jo Daviess County
April 25th is very proud to  announce:

        Diane Wilson, co-founder of CodePink and Texas Jail Project.org,
        Col. Ann Wright

will be joining us for the conference on Saturday April 25th.

They will be announcing  the German Foundation Ethics & Economics group has
chosen Erik Prince and Blackwater as the recipient of their 2009 Black
Planet Award.

Diane Wilson,  as a previous winner of the group's Blue Planet Award, has
been chosen to

present the award to Blackwater at their headquarters in North Carolina.

She will make the announcement at our conference first and then travel to
North Carolina to present the award. They will be speaking and announcing
the award Saturday morning
or at our afternoon plenary.

Blue Planet Award goes to José Abreu and Hugo Chavez (Venezuela)
Black Planet Award goes to Erik Prince and the management of BLACKWATER
(USA)

Ethecon - Foundation Ethics & Economics’ announced the award
recipients for the two international ethecon prizes. The Blue Planet
Award honours a selected person especially dedicated to the
preservation of our planet. The Black Planet Award is presented to
persons and companies which ruin our blue planet.

The Blue Planet Award 2008 will go to José Abreu and Hugo Chavez from
Venezuela for their engagement in the project “El Sistema!”. José
Abreu is a conductor, composer and economist. 30 years ago he
developed the idea of combining social work with classical music, in
order to offer children from poor neighborhoods an alternative to life
on the streets. 250,000 children and young adults are currently
playing a musical instrument, and by 2010 these numbers will have
doubled. These developments have created hope in a country where 80
percent of the population live in precarious social circumstances. In
2001 José Abreu was awarded the Right Livelihood Award. This project
fulfills the expectations into a laureate of the Blue Planet Award.

The Black Planet Award 2008 will go to Erik Prince and the managers
of BLACKWATER (USA) for their criminal participation in warfare.
BLACKWATER is a private military company and security firm founded in
1997 by Erik Prince and Al Clark. 90% of its revenue comes from
government contracts. The company has more than 1,000 personnel in
Iraq alone. BLACKWATER has strong ties to fundamentalist Christian
groups which favor an aggressively interventionist US foreign policy.

 The award ceremony for both ethecon prizes will take place:
 March 14, 2009, 2 p.m.

Pfefferwerk, Grosser Saal

 Prof. Dr. Juergen Rochlitz, former member of the German parliament,
will hold the laudatory speech. The speech on BLACKWATER will be given
by Peter Strutinsky who works on peace studies at the University of
Kassel/Germany. Additional speaker is Conrad Schuhler (Institute for
Social-Ekologic Economical Studies/Munic).

 Former beneficiaries of the Blue Planet Award are Diane Wilson (USA)
and Vandana Shiva (India). Former Black Planet Award recipients are
the shareholders and the Management MONSANTO and NESTLÉ.
