[Peace] Upcoming events on the Crisis in Gaza: Please Forward

Several folks who are deeply concerned about the suffereing in Gaza attended a gathering last night at CIMIC (Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center).   They are in the process of planning upcoming events around the crisis and they really welcome the support of concerned folks in the community.  I don't have all the details (if anyone else from the meeting wants to add anything, please do), but here is some preliminary info:

Educational Program on the Occupation with speakers from Chicago
Friday, January 9 at 8pm
Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center (106 S. Lincoln, Urbana) 

Rally in Support of the People of Gaza
Saturday, January 10 from 12- 2pm
Champaign County Courthouse (Corner of Main and Broadway in downtown Urbana)

Other upcoming events include a fundraiser on January 25 to raise money for humanitarian aid to Gaza (via Islamic Relief) and campus events on January 27 (including a rally on the Quad and an evening speaker).  Details to come.
