Dear UIUC students and faculty,

There will be a forum held on May 7th, 5:00pm in room 111 at Gregory Hall to discuss the current financial crisis facing the United States and the world.

The purpose of this forum is to discuss the causes of this sudden crisis as well as the likely consequences, and to provide an opportunity for students to ask questions about what they can do to prepare themselves for life in a depressed global economy.

Speakers will include Drs. Salim Rashid of the economics departmet, Mark Leff of the history department, and William Bernhard of the political science department, as well as a possible guest speaker from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Please join us to discuss this issue, which can potentially affect not only our wallets, but the global political and economic system itself.
