towards a community-wide plan for universal access to broadband in Champaign

... We will hear from Mike Smeltzer, of the U of I, who is coordinating
efforts to apply for broadband stimulus funding from the federal government
to *build fiber to the home in underserved neighborhoods* and create and
strengthen *community technology centers*.
... Safiya Noble will talk about the *digital divide* and how our community
can overcome it.
... Danielle Chynoweth will talk about *how the future of literacy, social
connection, and prosperity hinges on universal access to the internet*.
... And we will host a "problem jostle" where *community members can discuss
the ideas, questions, and topics* they bring, which will become input to our
community plan.
