=================[[[  ICJPE Conference  ]]] ===============
What's going on? Who are all these people and why would we
want to hear from them?

The Illinois Coalition for Justice Peace and the Environment
invites you to join us as we celebrate our 5th annual statewide
conference in the town where we began, Urbana, Illinois.

April 9 & 10, 2010 will feature Alexander Cockburn as Keynote speaker at the
Independent Media Center • 202 S. Broadway, Urbana, IL 61801.
The PUBLIC is WELCOME.

This year we come together to forge new connections and to explore new ways to
communicate with each other as we meet the challenges of a movement seemingly
drawn down while injustice, war and environmental degradation rage on.
Yet, in four years ICJPE has grown to include over 160 member groups.

We are led by the activism of an extremely talented group of activist/speakers
who will guide us in our presentations: Connecting and Communicating,
Transforming the Land, Transforming Social Relations, and Transforming Empire.
Join us.

narrated by Zinn and based on his People's History of the United States and
Voices of A People's History, this film uses dramatic musical performances of
the letters, diaries and speeches of everyday Americans who fought for equality
and justice from the bottom up.

The International Socialist Organization (ISO) was able to work out a series
of special showings with the producers, and will be organizing screenings
across the country, from April 1 to April 11. The Champaign-Urbana showing
is co-sponsored by Anti-War and Anti-Racism Effort (AWARE), GSLIS-GEO and
the Champaign-Urbana ISO.

We hope that activists who are long familiar with "A People's History of the
United States," and those who have not yet read it, will come to showing,
stay to discuss what they see and hear, and take inspiration from past
struggles to fuel current and future work.

Sunday's events are co-sponsored by AWARE, C-U Citizens for Peace and Justice,
GSLIS-GEO, and the International Socialist Organization (ISO).
