With respect to this insignificant non-issue, the more interesting and important question - it seems to me - would be what sorts of evidence it would take to convince those who doubt the legitimacy of the birth certificate of its legitimacy.  What would they accept as legitimate evidence refuting their suspicions?   I suspect that this is for them basically an article of faith and nothing would suffice to  call their beliefs into question.

I know that the form of my own official birth certificate has changed over the years.  The original one was twice the size of the current one, it was issued by the hospital and contained a footprint on it and signatures in ink.  The original copies issued by the State of Delaware was smaller and typewritten forms containing information contained in the original official document of record; and later, the copy that was sent out by the State was a negative Photostat of  the original official state record of my birth.  Current copies issued by the State are positive photocopies of what now comprises the official state computer generated document which has no foot prints nor signatures of the doctor as was on the original hospital issued document.  The only thing that has been a consistent property of all the documents throughout the years has been that they were all notarized with an embossed notary impression.

I wouldnt like the Obama no matter what the truth is about his citizenship.

The reason the widely viewed "birth certificate" is thought to be fake is that at the time the Obot was hatched, Hawaii used a typewritten form that is a sort of negative with white print on a black background.  The widely distributed BC is a modern one.

As much as I dont care for the way the city of Champaign is run, it is yet to be seen whether or not this conspiracy theory is loony.

        I just watched the Ch 3 News. The lead story was about Schweighart and titled, "Caught On Tape." The story ended w/ an online petition re the Mayor's resignation. Here's the link

        They played the YouTube video a couple of times, and took statements afterwards in which he reaffirmed his opinion that Obama isn't an American because he wasn't born in the US, tho' he conceded he's become a citizen since then.  
        They interviewed the grad student John O'Connor, the guy who taped Schweighart. He said he went public w/ the tape because "it's the right of all citizens to know that he believes this and to make judgments based on this. He is a private citizen, but the fact is, he is also the mayor... and if he believes a fringe, frankly loony conspiracy theory, that directly impacts his ability to do his job." The report said that the mayor said his office has received several phone calls, some asking for his resignation, but that that's "something that won't happen anytime soon." County Board member Alan Kurtz said that the mayor should resign as he represents the city... and "How do you run a city when you don't have the facts?"


        Jennifer Roscoe said that 3 cases re Obama's Citizenship had been filed w/ the IL Supreme Court and all had been dismissed.
