June is torture awareness month*.

[rstorm2 at illinois dot edu] has a packet from Amnesty International
that has the following items:
* DVD of "The Response" (a 30-minute drama about Guantanamo)
* action postcards,
* stickers and
* all the materials needed to organize a successful vigil or film screening

Rachel Storm is looking for groups (especially church groups) that
might be interested in showing a 30-minute film followed by a
discussion. I'd like to get several groups to get together to see the
film.

* June 26th is United Nations International Day in Support of Victims
of Torture. Several years ago, religious and human rights
organizations in the United States declared the month of June to be
Torture Awareness Month as a way to provide greater visibility to this
issue and provide an opportunity for coordinated actions across the
country.
