The same thing happened to me, except I got stranded in London (where everyone who knows me knows I would have stayed if I had had enough money to get there in the first place).

Hi folks,

I'm still helping with the email lists and I thought I'd let you all know
that Charlotte's fine and not stranded in Nigeria 8-). I just spoke with
her by phone at work.

Unfortunately, her email account has been hijacked. It may take a while
to get that straightened out.
