I had the great pleasure of attending 1 and 1/2 events this evening.

I highly recommend the movie "Occupation 101" about the
Israeli/Palestinian situation. The movie is very well done and
includes a lot of voices. There is a few minutes where the screen is
divided, the left showing a picture of the Israeli occupation, the
right side shows images from South African apartheid -- it was quite
striking. The parents of Rachel Corey were also there. The description
of the direct aid from the U.S. to Israel was very effective when the
comparison of the number of people in Israel is compared to the number
of people in Africa, Central and South America combined. The
university library owns the dvd and rights to show it. Any registered
student organization may show it to the public on campus.

I then ran over to the Channing-Murray Foundation and saw the second
half of the play "Strangers." It was very well performed by two
passionate and talented women. It was a story about Guatemala, but
more importantly, it was a story about women in poverty.

At both these events, there were amazing people in attendance. Only a
few faces were the usual suspects. I believe that the voice of the
people is growing stronger in numbers.
