The Department of African American Studies will be hosting JIMMIE
BRIGGS, investigative journalist and guest-in-residence at Unit
One/Allen Hall, at a "brown bag" session TODAY, 12:15pm - 1:45pm at
1201 West Nevada Street.

Through his work, Briggs seeks to share with the world the voices and
stories of the disenfranchised and voiceless.  He is currently
completing his second book, The Wars Women Fight: Dispatches from a
Father to His Daughter, in which he tells the stories of women and
girls in war, focusing on the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kosovo,
and Afghanistan.
